Chain tension on Yamaha Ténéré 700
Accurate chain tension on the Yamaha Ténéré 700 is very important for your safety and the optimal performance of your motorcycle. Be aware that the chain will stretch by several millimeters during the first 1000 km. Thereafter, we advise you to check the chain tension before each ride and to make an adjustment with maintenance every 800 km. Approximate adjustments on the Ténéré 700 can have harmful consequences that can cause significant and costly damage to your motorcycle. Too loose a chain tension can damage the pinion and crown as well as the swingarm and frame. Otherwise, if the chain is too tight, it will cause premature wear of the transmission, which can lead to a breakage of the chain as well as overloading the engine or even damage it. To ensure safe driving, it is essential to regularly check the chain tension of the Yamaha Ténéré 700, accompanied by appropriate maintenance. We strongly recommend the use of maintenance products specially designed for cleaning and lubricating the chain kit.
